Jamie Croll Nominated for Cameron Blue of the Year
We are incredibly proud to announce that Jamie Croll has been nominated for the prestigious Cameron Blue of the Year Award by the Edinburgh University Sports Union, recognising his outstanding contribution to both university and international hockey this season.
Jamie’s achievements this year speak for themselves. He has now earned seven senior international caps for Scotland, making his debut during the FIH Nations Cup, where he was part of the squad that went on to win the tournament, a historic achievement for Scottish Hockey on the world stage. His international appearances have also included high-level test matches against teams such as Poland and Wales, showcasing his composure, adaptability, and defensive leadership under pressure.
Adding to his international experience, Jamie previously earned six caps for Scotland U21, marking him as one of the brightest young prospects in the national setup.
At university level, Jamie has been a linchpin in the Edinburgh University Men’s 1st XI, anchoring the defence with maturity beyond his years. He played a pivotal role in the team’s BUCS North Premier League triumph and was instrumental in the side’s victory in the Scottish Cup, capping off a season of silverware and standout performances. His ability to consistently perform at the highest level — balancing elite sport with academic demands — makes his nomination even more impressive.
Jamie’s journey this season has epitomised what it means to wear the green and white. A tireless worker, calm leader, and humble teammate, he has set an exceptional example both on and off the pitch. His nomination is a reflection not only of his talent but of the dedication and spirit he brings to the club and university sport as a whole.
Congratulations Jamie
