VARSITY 2010
By: Will Butler at 05-03-2010 17:36

Wednesday 17th March is Varsity. The University take on our city rivals Heriot-Watt in what is always a hotly contested event. Click read more for further information.

Varsity 2010 is going to be bigger and better than ever. This year is the first year that Men's hockey has been a non-league fixture. The University haven't lost a Varsity hockey match in the past two encounters so they will be keen to make sure that they continue this form. The two league fixtures were close, with the University winning the first 3-1, whilst slumping to draw 2 all in the second.

It promises to be a fantastic day of sport, and the more support we can get down the better. Heriot-Watt always bring a large crowd and the bar will be open so let's ensure that we get as many people down to support as possible.

Exact timings are still to be announced but the sports that will be contested are as follows:

Men's 1st XI Hockey
Woman's 1st XI Hockey
Men's 1st XI Football
Woman's 1st XI Football
Indoor Rowing (to be held on hockey pitch)
Men's 1st XV Rugby

Last year The University won all but one event, taking the Varsity series 4-1 and with another sport added let's hope we can win by an even bigger margin this year!

March 17th, Peffermill Playing Fields. Be there!
